Terms of use

Last updated: September 24, 2026

These terms govern the use of thehumanitywall.com and what you publish on the wall. Read them carefully, especially sections 4 and 5: what you publish is permanent.

1. Owner

The service is provided by the owner of The Humanity Wall. Contact: info@thehumanitywall.com

2. Acceptance

Browsing the wall needs no account. To sign in you must accept these terms and be at least 14 years old. We record the version you accept and the date. If we change them, we will ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in and, until then, you will not be able to publish.

How we process your data is explained in the privacy policy, and buying credits is also governed by the terms of sale.

3. Your cells

Claiming a free cell costs one credit. The cell becomes yours and nobody else can edit it. While your account is active, you can change its content or clear it whenever you like. Clearing it does not free it or return the credit.

4. What you publish is permanent

The content of your cells stays on the wall for as long as the service exists. We do not remove it at your request, nor when your account is blocked or deleted: it stays as you last saved it, without any data that identifies you, and nobody will be able to edit or claim those cells. It is only removed in the cases in section 6.

Think carefully about what you publish: do not publish anything you would not want to stay on the wall.

5. Licence over your content

You remain the owner of the rights in what you publish. By saving it in a cell you grant us a non-exclusive, free, worldwide licence for the full term of protection of those rights, which continues even if your account is blocked or deleted, to reproduce it, communicate it to the public and make it available to the public on the wall and in reproductions of the wall or parts of it (screenshots, videos and materials to promote the project), and to transform it as technically necessary (cropping, resizing and compressing it). The licence does not allow us to sell your content separately.

You may only publish your own content or content you have the right to publish, and you are responsible for it under the law. Your moral rights as an author are not affected.

6. Moderation and removal

Everything you publish must follow the content rules. Content appears as soon as it is published, without prior review, and a person reviews it afterwards. We remove content that:

  • breaks the content rules or the law;
  • infringes third-party rights, such as intellectual property, honour, privacy or image rights;
  • a judicial or administrative authority orders us to remove;
  • contains your personal data (for example, a photo in which you can be recognised) and you ask us to erase it (Art. 17 GDPR).

If we remove content for breaking the rules, the cell becomes free, we return its credit and we block the account. In the other cases we only remove that content.

If you disagree with a removal or a block, write to us at info@thehumanitywall.com and we will review it.

7. Account blocking

We may block your account if you break these terms or the content rules, if a payment is disputed with the bank or refunded due to fraud, or if we detect abusive use. With a blocked account you cannot edit your cells, claim others, buy credits or redeem gift codes. Your content stays on the wall (section 4).

If the block is not due to a breach on your part, you can ask us to refund the credits you have not used.

8. Deleting your account

You can ask us to delete your account by writing to info@thehumanitywall.com from its email address. We will erase your name, email address and access, and keep purchase data for the period required by law. Your content stays on the wall with no link to you (section 4), unless it contains your personal data and you ask for it to be removed (section 6). Unused credits are lost: before that, request their refund if you are entitled to one under the terms of sale.

9. Changes and end of the service

We may improve or change the service and these terms. If the terms change, we will tell you when you sign in and you will have to accept them to keep publishing; if you do not accept them, you can stop using the service and ask us to delete your account.

If we decide to close the wall, we will announce it on the website at least 30 days in advance.

10. Complaints and governing law

For any complaint, write to us at info@thehumanitywall.com. We are not part of any alternative consumer dispute resolution scheme.

These terms are governed by Spanish law, without prejudice to the rights granted to you as a consumer by the law of your country of residence.
